The Nutrition Officer GJP is to be used in a Country Office (CO) where the Nutrition Programme is a component of the Country Programme (or UNDAF). The Nutrition Officer reports to the Chief of Nutrition or Nutrition Specialist/Manager who is at Level 5/4/3. Level 1 is an entry professional level and should therefore be normally used as a trainee level for the purpose of acquiring organizational knowledge of rules, regulations, and processes to supplement academic and theoretical knowledge of the profession for upward mobility to higher responsibilities. Incumbents at this level are not expected to remain for an extended period of time in the post. The Nutrition Officer provides professional, technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the nutrition programmes and projects. The incumbent applies theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical programme information to support the development and formulation of the Nutrition Programme within the Country Programme, while learning organizational rules, regulations, and procedures. If you would like to know more about this position, please review the complete Job Description here: Nutrition Officer NOA - Somalia.pdf ## Skills and qualifications To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… Minimum requirements Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Public Health, Nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global health, international health and nutrition, health sciences, health research, policy, policy management, nutritional epidemiology and any other related fields. Work Experience: At least 1 years of relevant work experience in Nutrition, Health and Nutrition, Nutrition Coordination, Maternal Nutrition, Food Systems, Nutrition Information. and any other related fields. Skills: Experience with Cluster Coordination, Partnership Management and/or Capacity Building. Language Requirements: English knowledge on a proficient/fluent level. Desirables Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language would be an asset. Previous Experience with Knowledge Management and/or Digital Data. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
