PSPH focuses on developing, testing, and assessing pro-poor healthcare financing mechanisms and ensuring that organized private service providers deliver quality and inclusive health services across the country. DT Global implements the programme on behalf of SDC, partnering with the Somali Research and Development Institute (SORDI) and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH). PSPH is managed as a unified programme under the Technical Director. It is common in Somalia and Somaliland that private hospitals are owned and managed by clinicians who received professional medical training but no formal business or economics training. The Hospital Management and Administration (MHA) training program, organized for private healthcare service providers in collaboration with the Private Sector Partnerships for Health (PSPH) project, aims to equip healthcare professionals with essential skills and knowledge to effectively manage their facilities, to increase access to quality and affordable healthcare to the mass market.
